HOW TO Use
Step 1
Irrigate and cleanse the wound thoroughly ensuring that the surrounding skin is clean and dry.
Step 2
Applying the Suprasorb C wound dressing:
Open the sterile pouch and remove the dressing under aseptic conditions.
Cut the Suprasorb C Collagen Wound Dressing to the required size and shape using a sterile pair of scissors and normally apply dry, ensuring that the side facing downwards in the pack is applied to the wound.
If there is little or no wound secretion, we recommend moistening Suprasorb C with Microdacyn / Physiological Saline Solution before application.
Press down gently on the dressing for better contact with the wound surface. Ensure that the wound is packed completely with no part of the wound left uncovered.
Step 3
Secondary Dressing
Apply a secondary dressing to keep the wound bed moist. When moistened or exposed to wound exudate Suprasorb C turns into a gel that lines the wound bed and is absorbed by the body. If there is little or no exudate, moisten the dressing with saline before application.
MODE OF ACTION
- Its porous structure enables it to have a highly pronounced capillary activity allowing continuous absorption of exudates, debris , inflammatory proteases & cytokines which further induce migration of fibroplasts and stimulate collagen synthesis- promoting and accelerating the formation of granulating tissue.
- The repair of the wound base promotes the necessary proliferation and migration of epidermal cells which further promotes wound healing.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
vascular ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds healing by secondary intention.
Suprasorb C can be combined with other products from the moist wound treatment system.
